Meet Helen E Tadjalli MD FACS Plastic Surgeon
Dr. Helen Tadjalli is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. She offers 16 years experience in the fields of cosmetic surgery, plastic reconstructive surgery, and surgery of the hand. She earns the trust of her patients by being thorough and honest and helping them make informed decisions. Many of her referrals include the friends and family members of other physicians who have seen her work firsthand and trust her patient care. This is why she has been voted on the Best Doctors® list in St. Louis for multiple years.
Dr. Tadjalli strives to offer innovative techniques in all areas of her practice, ensuring that these techniques are safe and effective. The most requested procedures are breast reconstruction, augmentations, reductions, and lifts; tummy tucks; liposuction; full-body contouring after massive weight loss; and face- and neck lifts. Her program of minimally invasive facial rejuvenation, such as with a science-based skin care line, injectable fillers, fat injections, Botox®, microdermabrasion and chemical peels, help both men and women feel more confident in their social surroundings.
Dr. Tadjalli collaborates on a regular basis with many area oncologists who have requested her participation to perform breast reconstructions. She is able to offer advanced procedures for primary and revision breast reconstruction that maximize utilization of local tissues combined with acellular dermal grafts and implants. Her keen understanding of the causes of breast asymmetry and the unsatisfactory breast are common opportunities where she will bring the latest in reconstructive surgery to cancer patients.
Dr. Tadjalli spent most of her childhood in Canada and Spain and it was her exposure to international life that led to the development of her creativity and adaptability. She obtained her medical degree at Universidad de Navarra. Her first interest in plastic surgery began during a voluntary clinical externship at a community hospital in suburban Toronto. This connection fueled the desire to return to the area after graduation, and pursue further training leading up to becoming a plastic surgeon. She completed a two-year internship at University of Toronto hospitals, then a four-year residency in general surgery at York Hospital in Pennsylvania, a three-year residency in plastic surgery at University of Manitoba, a one-year fellowship in hand surgery at Baylor College of Medicine, and finally, a one-year fellowship in reconstructive microsurgery at University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Dr. Tadjalli is fluent in English, Spanish, and French.
While working as an Assistant Professor at the University of Miami, and at Washington University in St. Louis, she gave back to the community by training other plastic surgeons. She has published original work in medical journals and presented numerous papers at international meetings. She contributed service as a committee member for the Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation for the past 12 years, and also serves on various leadership committees at local hospitals.
